FICPA State Committees

The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) is the premier professional organization representing Florida's Certified Public Accountants. Serving on an FICPA Committee is a great way for accounting professionals to network with their peers from around the entire State, while enabling them to play an influential role in shaping the future of their profession. 

Team members serving on FICPA state committees for 2015 - 2016:

John H. Stroemer, CPA, CFST, CAM, GRI     

  • State Legislative Policy Committee - discusses revisions to Florida Accountancy Laws and Rules; develops proposed legislative policies; coordinates with FICPA committees on potential legislative issues; and reviews pending legislation affecting the CPA profession.

Christopher Conti

  • Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards - which studies, reviews and comments on exposure drafts and research bulletins by various professional standard-setting bodies of the AICPA. 

Keith M. Wheeler

  • Not-for-Profit Conference Committee - which plans and presents the FICPA Not-for-Profit Organizations Conference, as well as studies, reviews and comments on accounting, auditing and reporting for not-for-profit organizations.

Marc S. Whitfield, CPA, MBA, CFST

  • Federal Taxation Committee - which requires him to attend annual liaison meetings with IRS officials and plans the agenda and presentations, as well as plans and represents a federal taxation track at the annual FICPA Academy.
  • State Tax Committee - which plans and presents the FICPA State Tax portion of the Mega CPE Conference and provides state taxation professionals with opportunities for knowledge sharing, professional development and advocacy on Florida-specific tax issues.

Rayne M. McGreevy, CAM

  • Common Interest Realty Association (CIRA) - plans and presents the FICPA Common Interest Realty Association Conference and assists members in becoming more technically proficient in accounting, tax, consultation and certain operational matters related to Florida’s CIRA industry by sharing valuable and timely information.

Samuel Bordner, CPA

  • Accounting Careers and Education Committee- promote accounting career opportunities to attract college students to become Certified Public Accountants through creative and effective outreach programs.

Malena Martinelli, MSAT, CPA

  • Women in Leadership Committee- develops, promotes, and recognizes women in accounting through professional development and mentoring. Creates an event for women to engage in leadership development, promote and administer the AICPA FICPA Women to Watch Awards, work with chapter leadership to promote women's initiatives and events within chapters.
